What are removable prostheses?
Removable prostheses are divided into complete dentures and partial dentures.
• Complete Dentures: Commonly known as dentures, complete dentures are used when a patient has lost all teeth in one or both dental arches. Made to fit perfectly to the gums and mouth of the patient, they restore aesthetics and functionality, allowing comfortable eating and speaking. They are fully removable and require proper oral hygiene to maintain the health of the gums and entire mouth.
• Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are indicated for patients who have lost one or more teeth but still have several natural teeth. These prostheses attach to the remaining teeth via anchoring devices, filling the gaps and preventing the natural teeth from shifting.
